PURPOSE: The relative position between the conveyor and the cutter edge is changed with the supporter that can move vertically to adjust the clearance of the cutter edge, whereby the tip of the cutter edge is correctly set to the bottom of the conveyor. CONSTITUTION: Fruit conveyors 2 with the perforation 22 on the bottom 21 are set to a pair of conveying chains 12 and fruits 3 are placed on the conveyors 2 so that the peduncle comes to the bottom 21 and projects through the perforation 22. The fruits are pressed on the top with a belt and conveyed in the arrow direction (A). Then, a supporter 7 that comes into contact with the bottom surface 21a near the place W where the peduncle is to be cut and guides the conveyor while supporting it at a prescribed height is set on the attachment 51 fixed to the stand 5 for the cutter edge 4 so that it can freely moves in the vertical directions to the stand 5. The supporter is vertically shifted to adjust the clearance between the tip 40 of the edge 4 and the bottom 21 and the peduncle is cut off with the edge 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
